Patriotism
has been running at an all-time high in this country ever ever
since the dastardly September 11 attacks on the Pentagon and
World Trade Center. You see the old stars & stripes "flying"
just about everywhere you look. On, or in front of factories
and office buildings. Draped in the windows and on the front
porches of homes. Stretched across freeway bridges and embankments.
You see miniature flags or flag stickers affixed to cars and
trucks. Everywhere you look "Old Glory" is being flown
all across the nation.
Well,
here's one car that IS a flag! Last Fall, the folks at Van Nuys,
California's Galpin Ford, (honored by Ford Motor Company as the
#1 volume Ford Dealer in the good ol' U.S. of A.) commissioned
this "Stars & Stripes" 2002 Mustang GT convertible,
which is used in parades and other dealer promotions.
Painted
in PPG Tri-Stage candy red, pearl white, and candy blue by Marty
Lorentzen and the crew at Sun Valley, California's M&M Autoworks,
and upholstered in matching red, white, and blue soft leather
trim by Sylmar, California's RW Auto Trim, this GT Mustang is
a real dazzler!

Other
modifications to the car (which you CAN purchase,) includes a
set of 1-inch lower profile Eibach Sport springs, a Flowmaster
exhaust, 18 x 8-inch Cobra Motorsport chrome-plated artillery
wheels, 255/40ZR-18-inch Michelin Pilot radial rubber, and a
Classic Design Concepts sport bar and CDC grille.
Quite
fittingly, this patriotic pony car made its public debut at the
Hollywood Christmas Parade 2001 where Grand Marshall Peter Fonda
of "Easy Rider" fame rode with his family. What did
"Captain America" think of Galpin Ford's patriotic
pony car? He seemed to like it a LOT!
